Valencia CF returned to winning ways against Real Betis, and the players experienced a boost in morale thanks to the 2-1 triumph. Many took to social media to express their delight with the three points, which take them closer to the European spots in LaLiga.
As Gabriel Paulista said, "The bat always comes back." There had been little doubt amongst the squad that the run of five games without a win would end soon, and Dani Parejo stated that "In the toughest moments is when the big teams appear. It was a great job by everybody to earn this victory."
On 41 points -5 more than at this stage of last season- Valencia CF are also 4 points better off in the second half of the campaign than they were in 2019/20. José Luis Gayà says that the team are "always going forward," whilst Daniel Wass highlights that they are "always united."
Summing up the victory over Betis, Maxi Gómez described it as "hugely important" and Ferran Torres -a birthday boy on Saturday- called it "the best gift that the team could give me."
The squad enjoyed a day off on Sunday, but are back to work on Monday to prepare their next fixture: A Friday night contest at Mendizorroza against Alavés.
